One of Japan's best attractions is food and alcohol, isn't it?
Tokyo has all of them so you can enjoy variously, but if you are planning to visit another city while you are in Japan and you are obsessed with food and alcohol, I highly recommend to visit Fukuoka, Kyushu area.
Hakata, the capital of Fukuoka prefecture, is the biggest city in Kyushu.
I personally love the city because it is not too big and people are nice.
The point is Hakata has wonderful quality of food and alcohol!
You should try some below.
▼Hakata ramen
Hakata has its unique taste of ramen, called Tonkotsu (pork bone) broth.
That is the one you should have when you are in Fukuoka.
1. Shin Shin
"Shin shin" is a popular ramen shop.
I waited in queue for 30 minutes, but it was worth.
The broth is not oily but tasteful. This is why especially women like this ramen.
You can choose how hard/soft noodles are boiled, and I would say "barikata" is the best.
I put some black pepper on it after I eat it like half.
You can customise it with what there are on your table. Find your best.
Try the nearest shop as it has some branches.
2. Ikkosha (一幸舎)
Ikkosha's taste is more like strong.
Once you get to the shop, you will notice of the smell!
Some people believe that the more tonkotsu ramen smells, the better it tastes, and I am also one of them.
I prefer Ikkosha to Shin shin because of that reason.
The photo upper is a spicy one, but still tastes its broth very well.
▼Offal hot pot
I know many people from overseas don' t eat offals daily.
Some people don't like them even in Japan because they smells.
But once you have tried offals in Fukuoka, you will definitely like them.
1.Maeda-ya(前田屋)
I prefer "miso" taste.
You have to order 1 portion each. It seems too big to eat all at first, but you will see it is actually not.
The hot pot is served almost cooked and you don't need to take care of it.
The offals are incredibly soft and not oily.
After you finish the stuff, you should order noodles, so you should leave the soup.
...Well, one of my favourites in Fukuoka is sesame flavoured mackerel, "gomasaba".
This one is also brilliant!!!
This is also a must.
